    Chickpea, maybe?
Or that Ukrainian place next to (and better than) Veselka...

Stage Restaurant. Good idea, though I like Teresa's better.

Has anyone gotten takeout at Mogador? I wonder how well their food holds up that way.

If you'd consider crossing Houston St., of course there's Katz's.

No, not Stage, though I like that one too. The one I'm thinking of is called "Ukrainian Restaurant" or something like that.
Never tried takeout at Mogador, but I'm sure that most of it travels well - esp. if you get hummus or something that can't overcook.

Yes, the Ukranian East Village Restaurant in the Ukranian National Home building. I find some of their food overly greasy, but if you order carefully, you can have a nice meal.

Paul's burgers and fries are awesome.

Hummus Place on St. Marks (a few paces away from East Village Books):
I can attest - after a door to door commute of almost an hour - that the Foul or Masbacha, along with some of the city's freshest, best pita, retains its' creamy deliciousness.

Katz's as well - just brought home two pastrami sandwiches a couple of nights ago, ate them almost an hour and a half later. The pastrami still went down like butter. Truly one of the seven wonders of the world.
