Is the food here good? What type of food?

Was there about 18 months ago. Very good food and atmosphere. Now living in Delaware so I don't think I'll get back there. Here is their web site also on the site you can link to the menu. Enjoy.

I used to live a couple of miles away from Hagan's Tavern and would go for special occasions or when people were visiting. I always enjoyed the food and thought it was good. My dining companions always liked it too. Everything I had there was very well prepared and tasted great--I think I always got seafood dishes, soup, and salads. In my opinion, it was one of the better food options that the Frederick area had to offer. Although I'm usually not one for a "period dress" place, Hagan's Tavern was well worth it.

Thanks, hhdilks, sounds intriguing. I wonder if the quality remains as you experienced it....?

Food at the Hagen's tavern remains some of the best in the area. For history buffs, this is THE place to eat, what with period costumes, great murals painted on the walls showing colonial scenes from days of yore, and the ambiance of a late 18th century inn or tavern, it's a wonderful place for lunch or a special night out. One of our all-time favorites.
