Which restaurant chain has THE rude wait staff??

NJFoodie Sep 21, 2006 11:07 PM

I cannot remember the name and tried to Google them. They have trained (some not needing training) wait staff to be rude to customers, i.e, if customer asks for a straw, they toss it onto his head.

I actually out-ruded a Dick's waiter in San Antonio once. He was so polite after that. I tipped generously.

How about letting us all know how you did it?

I've been to the one in Chicago but apparently they now have one in Milwaukee too - not sure where else but the wait staff is incrediably rude and the food is not anything spectacular so not sure why anyone pays to get rudely treated.

I've been to the one in Chicago a few times, it's part of the schtick. I wasn't so much annoyed by the rudeness but that the quality of the rudeness wasn't convincing. The servers seem to all be underemployed actors. Judging by their performance, it's obvious why.

I think people would be disappointed if the servers were polite. It would be like going to a snooty French restaurant and NOT have the waiter be a smug ass. That's part of what you're paying for.

Underemployed actors? They should open some up in greater Los Angeles.

You've got to be thinking of Dick's which tends to be in very touristy locations. I've eaten once at the one in Chicago and will never do it again. The food is definitely nowhere near worth putting up with the attitude - even if that is their schtick!
