Barbetta or Firebird

Has anyone been to either and if so, would you recommend for pretheater lunch? Appreciate your help.

I like Firebird, expensive but appealing menu. Great vodka selection. (Was carrying a pie to give to a friend later and the waiter, seeing this, offered my table free desert in exchange for a slice..who wouldn't be charmed by this?)

I used to be a Barbetta fan (especially because the garden is fabulous on a nice day/evening) but felt the food had descended into total mediocrity while the prices remained quite high. I've enjoyed Firebird (also kind of expensive) although the service was discombobulated the two times I was there.

While I've been to Barbetta a couple of times, I've found it to be too pricey for the limited portions you receive. The decor is fab, but that only makes up for so much. Have you been to both LL Bean?

Never been to Firebird, so I'm afraid I'm not much help.

I've been to Barbetta for lunch a couple of times - it's very old school, but delicious.
