  1. It's really easy, just add sugar to the oil and pop as usual. Use 1/4 cups sugar to 1/2 cup popcorn and crank like mad so it doesn't burn.

We've made awesome kettle corn at home in a heavy All-Clad pot. Just mix 1/4 c. oil, 1/4 c. sugar and 1/2 c. corn in the pan, cover and shake constantly over med-high or high heat. Make sure to salt it right afterwards. I've tried adding the salt beforehand and always overdo it.

Thanks- will have to ty this in my whirleypopper this weekend. I love it- but find the kids don't like it. As a matter of fact, none of my nieces or nephews like it either- though all of the adults do! Kind of like angel hair pasta- I find a lot of men don't like it- they prefer spaghetti or linguine. End of rant!

    2. This is surely the most ghetto kettle-corn recipe in the history of history:

Take a bag of the butter and salt microwave popcorn and pop it according to instructions. Then add 3 Tbsp. of sugar to the bag AS SOON AS YOU OPEN IT. Then close it again, shake it all up, and you have Ubergeek's Ghetto Kettle-Corn.

      1. haha i have to try this method. i have microwave popcorn in the cupboard but i LOVE kettle corn!:)
