Florence Italian in Irvine (What happened?)

Anyone remember Florence Italian Cuisine in Irvine? It was in Heritage Plaza (corner of Walnut and Culver). I think there's a Persian restaurant there now.

It was sort of a special restaurant for Cat and I, until one day a few years ago we showed up for dinner and it was gone. Poof! I never did find out what had happened; if it had moved, folded, etc.

It anyone can fill me in as to what happened and, more importantly, where the head chef went, I'd very much appreciate it. To this day, Cat still raves about their Ravioli di Aragosta.

  1. I don't know what happened to Florence Italian or it's chef, but the new Persian restaurant is called Darband, and the owner, whose name is Hedar, could probably tell you, since I believe he bought the place from them. He's very nice, give him a call. I never did go there when it was open, but if Florence Italian had great Italian food, I'd like to know where they went too!

    1. It's been quite a while since it changed over . . .last year even? I want to know where the chef went too. That was one of the best Sunday brunches I ever had.

      1. Two years ago, I believe.
