Your tomatoes are far prettier than mine, but this has been my (albeit blurry) desktop image since the day this salad was consumed:

It isn't that mine are prettier--it's all about lighting--mine look *terrible* in poor lighting.
(Think... "Candlelight Dinner"... we all look better by candlelight :)

Pretty! but ugh - that bug! tee hee. Do you consider it a parasite against your tomatoes?

          All parasites are "taken out".

I had a LOT of these this year:

Do you have a little bug AK-47, or do you just pinch and stomp? :-)

And even when you're taking pictures of crawly and hoppy bugs, they're DAMN fine pictures!

I had the fewest tomato worms this year I've ever had. I seem to remember last year, after having searched for the little bastard 10 minutes before finding him, grinding him into the dirt while screaming "die, MFer, and let this be a warning to your friends". Apparently it worked.

Yeah, I'd say that even in that teeny-tiny little tomato worm brain of theirs, they figured out danna's tomatoes were best to be avoided this year. :-)

I'll have to try that with grasshoppers next year--had a zillion!

ROFL! You very artfully placed the two halves "just so" in the dirt. Very Terminator-like. Nice job! ;-)

For you Norcal natives, how are your beefsteak tomatoes doing? I have lots of big yellow brandywines on the vines, but only a half a dozen on 5 plants have ripened. It's getting cold outside. I'm worrying that they won't ripen, especially the ones in my new garden.
