I am hosting a small party to celebrate Wagner's Ring Cycle and would like to use gold leaf as a dessert decoration. Where can one buy it in Toronto?

Golda's Kitchen in Mississauga has it. A small container (spice bottle size) is $19 or so.

Try McCall's cake decorating goods place in Etobicoke. An obvious place to ask around also is Little India, I'd think.

I'm not so sure what art stores sell is edible - try any cake decorating supply for the edible stuff. There are a couple - World of Cake decorating on Weston road, and I think there are a few others as well.

And I'm sure Bonnie Stern's shop on Erskine (Yonge & Eg) will carry it as well.

Currys art supply on Yonge above College usually has gold leaf... just make sure it is real pure gold so that it is edible..
