seafood restaurants in SF

Coming to SF for two nights and meeting my niece who is a vegan. Would like to take her to a nice fish restaurant. Would appreciate your recommendations. Thanks.

I think a bit of clarification is needed here. Vegans don't eat any animal products of any kind, abstaining not just from animal flesh but also from things like milk, honey, and eggs. So a vegan wouldn't eat fish.

Are you looking for a seafood restaurant that is vegan friendly (i.e., that has seafood for you but vegan dishes for your niece)? Or is your niece actually better described as a pescetarian that will eat seafood?

Second nja's question about taking a vegan to a seafood restaurant, but:

      Hayes St. Grill
      Woodhouse Fish Co.
      Fish. (Sausalito)
      Koi Palace (Daly City)
      Sea Salt (Berkeley)

I think it is somewhat misleading to describe Swan Oyster Depot as a "restaurant". It is a great raw bar, good fresh fish, but the only thing hot is the chowder. Sitting on hard seats at a crowded counter may be a shock to someone expecting a seafood restaurant.

Good point. I edited the list and took off the places that aren't exactly nice or aren't quite restaurants.

Add Tadich to the list above.

Thanks for your suggestions. My niece must be a pescetarian since she eats fish.
