Best street truck?
I love those street-side trucks. I've had excellent tacos al carbon on Venice near Centinela at 10:00 pm, the meatiest burrito on 5th and Western (that always gave the runs), and an awesome Milanesa steak sandwich on Wilshire near Hauser.
Any trucks you've tried of note lately? Or is this too ghetto for chowhound?

I posted this in another taco thread, but there's a website dedicated to taco trucks. They have a Top 10 every month, and I try to eat through the list each month, have found amazing food.

3 in Highland Park of note:
-Tacos Sinaloa which parks just West of the Gold Line tracks on Ave. 54 or 53, I can't remember. They have these specilaites called Vampiros and Charreadas which are kind of like open face quesadillas and are fantastic.-Takitaco on Figueroa and like Ave. 52, next to the Food4Less. Really good straight-up tacos
-El Pique truck on York and Ave 54 or so next to a car wash. They have some of the best al pastor and asada in the city.

there are two taco trucks in Venice that are great...
#1: On Lincoln, just south of Rose. This truck is there at night and serves outstanding tacos. I think it is called La Oaxaquena, if that gives you any insight into what they serve.
#2: On Rose, west of Lincoln and east of Main, there is a taco truck parked during lunchtime hours. Their ceviche is excellent and their tacos are also pretty good.

Im partly responding, partly reaching out for help.
Going up the 5 fwy through e/la we pulled off (due to hunger and bad traffic) either Soto, or a nearby exit. The exit was mostly residential and we were on the north side of the freeway. Just off the exit, in the parking lot of a closed mexican restaurant was a Cimetas truck with a line a mile long but moving quick. If your not familiar, neither am I, but it's alot like a torta. grilled bread, slices of mex. fresh cheese, whole pieces of Carne, Avocado, peppers. DAMN good. (and $2.50)
Info?
This reminds me of the "you were a blonde in a honda civic" ad. But worth a try. These were THAT good. I may have to explore if nobody can tell me where it was I was eathing.

Have you checked out Bandini's Blog "Taco Hunt?"
One of his favorite taco trucks is El Matador located at Western Ave and Lexington.
I especially like Angelica, a truck that specializes in Cemitas Poblanas and is located during the day in front of Smart & Final on Venice Blvd and Clarrington.
