LA Prime at the Westin Bonaventure or Noe at the Omni?

A friend has recommended this for another friend's birthday dinner. Thumbs up or thumbs down? Thanks.

Well, if you have to choose between the two, two thumbs up for Noe. I do suggest the tasting menu, but even if not, the a la carte menu is still exceptional. They will recommend signature dishes, like the mimosa salad. The chef executes food in novel ways and melds unique tastes together. He also does a terrific dessert tasting on-the-spot if you request it.

Noe tends toward cutting edge food and can be a lot of fun. I find that the food there is best if you order a tasting menu rather than a la carte. L.A. Prime is basic steaks and chops and there are other places downtown (Arnie Morton's, Nic & Stef's, Pacific Dining Car, the Palm) that do that better. What about the great Water Grill?

Good call on Water Grill. Tasted some of David's creativity a week ago at the Savor the Seasons event, and it definitely warranted the full meal deal downtown.

noe was okay for me. l.a. prime was less than okay.

          neither are spectacular...

          try opus!

            Thumbs down on LA Prime.

Try NOE instead, much better and more refined cooking.
