Da Flora's gnocchi

So we had the sweet potato gnocchi at Da Flora the other night. They were simply amazing. Sage and pancetta and a cream sauce made them so much more decadent. The only low point was the fish offering that night, a sole dish, unmemorable. And we had a Black Mouth cake for dessert that was unbelievably good. The best part for me was the wine as Flora herself puts together the list and can go on ad nauseum about each wine. I sprang for a nice Gaja as well as a Dolcetto from a lesser known vintner and they were simply incredible...

  1. so where is this yummy place?

    1. what dolcetto did you have?

      1. so did you get 7 gnocchi? prime number food worth fighting over, i'd say. maybe that's her way of suggesting that each diner get their own order (not a bad solution).

and yes, good place for wine too.

it's right on columbus, on a sharp western corner. but i forgot the cross st. pretty far north, tho.

          It's at Columbus and Filbert.

        2. Da Flora:

          701 Columbus Avenue
          San Francisco, CA 94133
          (415) 981-4664

I think the cross street is Filbert, right near Washington Square.
