Marriage Propposal - Hartford, CT

My girlfriend is a "food nut" and I am looking for the best restaurant in the Hartford area with a romantic touch. I would prefer an establishment that would accommodate a request for a private table. Any suggestions?

Thank you for your recommendations but I have decided to go another rout. I bought a surprise plane ticket to Chicago for the day and will propose over dinner in this great food city.

Polytechnic Club. They do lunch - and you could get your own room/private table. Or, you could wait until a Seasonal Wine Dinner.

The place overlooks the CT River from the 20th Floor of the Steamboiler building, and has top shelf service. They'd be very good if you had special requests Im guessing.

Cavey's, downstairs at the French restaurant. Quiet. Private. Great food. Very romantic.
