In search of the best burekas and matboucha salad in NYC. Any ideas?
The best bureks can be found at most of the Albanian and Bosnian places around the city - try Djerdan, which has branches in Manhattan, Queens, and Brooklyn. I've enjoyed their spinach and cheese ones immensely, although the ones at Cevabdzinica Sarajevo in Astoria and House of Pizza on Arthur Ave. in the Bronx are a bit better in my opinion.
As for the matboucha, the most authentic Moroccan restaurants are in Bay Ridge (La Maison du Couscous, Les Babouches) and Astoria (Jour et Nuit), although I can't say I've seen it on a menu here.
