Hubby and I are craving a great deli, actually 2 of them. One Jewish and the other Italian. While Chompies has pretty decent bagels, most of their menu items we've tried have been mediocre or sub-par at best. De Falco's Italian grocery on Scottsdale Road and Oak Street is the closest we have found to a great Italian, but still somewhat limited in selection. We've lived here 7 years and thought with this area's explosive growth, both of these type delis would be here by now. What are we missing? TIA!

Some great deli's in the Scottsdale area to try are:
Stan's Deli in Old Town Scottsdale...w/ the half sour tomatoes and pickles on the table...decent Sandwiches.

New York Bagels and Bialys for a decent bagel and bialy more NY Style than Chompies (boiled before baked).

Lox, Stock and Bagel on McCormick Ranch for a decent Bagel.

Goldman's Deli @ Indian Bend and Hayden....great Sandwiches! The Sweet and Sour Cabbage Soup is to die for!

Miracle Mile Deli (Phoenix) Great Pastrami and Corned Beef Sandwiches if you can get your mouth around them!

There is also Pima Deli on Raintree and Northsight and Kashman's deli @ Pinnacle Peak and Scottsdale Road. (Haven't tried them yet)

Don't miss Scott's Generations on the NE corner of Missouri and 7th Street in the Basha's center. Their bagels are great and so are the sandwiches.

I also really like Nicolli's on 16th Street between Rose Lane and Bethany Home on the west side of the street. Their Italian sandwiches are the best I've found.

      Enjoy!
