Any cool SAKE BARS in LA like DECIBEL in East Village (NYC)??

Hi Hounds,

I love Japanese sake bars that are like Decibel in Manhattan's East Village. Kind of dark. Loud music. Not dingy... but a lot of character.

Any suggestions without having too far from Westside. (Prefer to avoid the Valley if possible.)

Thanks!

  1. I've never been to Decibel, but I would recommend Sake House Miro on La Brea at 8th St. It's got character, don't know what music they play at night, probably a little-more low key than something you would find in the East Village, but very cool nonetheless. Decent food, too.
    Here's a review.

    1. I'm not 100% sure what makes a sake bar, but I can add that Beacon in Culver City has a delicious selection of fruit-infused sakes and they have a bar.

I realize I might have just recommended a selection of great sushi rolls to an omakase purist ... but I didn't mean to ...

      1. Cool. I'm close to La Brea so will check out Miro.

        Thanks!

        1. I've searched high and low. Nothing like Decibel in LA that I've found yet. Sake House is the closest you'll get but it's not what you're looking for. If you ever find it be sure to post.

Also, if you go back to NYC ever, check out Saka-Gura (spelling may be off). It's the higher end version of Decibel (less NYU students, 3 times the sakes).
