Donovan's Burger

Well, after being a little disappointed in the Ben's Best pastrami sandwich, I went back for the Donovan's cheeseburger with fried onions. Definitely in the top 3 to 5 in the city.

  1. Is this Donovan's Pub in Woodside? If so, have you ever tried their prime rib? I haven't been there in many years, and my last recollection is of their prime rib. It was pretty good at that time. I would like to go back, even if it's just for the burger now.

      Never got past the burger. I've been jonesing for prime rib though lately and am thinking about trying Keen's in Manhattan.

    2. Not only one of the best, I agree, but a great bargain as well. Leaves room for a nice cold Guiness or two.

      2. I totally agree. Had one last night. I get it medium-rare, with cheddar and fried onions. I take about half the onions off. :)

        Obviously not the best bun in the world (it ends up merging with the patty), but great flavor and the texture cannot be beat.

        1. I am off the wagon when I eat the Donovan Burger so I add on cheddar cheese and bacon to the burger-- so delicious. There's nothing better than animal by-products. I also agree with the fried onions. Ask for extra napkins. The burger is very juicy. The fries are mediocre.
