Crazy Fish? Are all those people outside crazy?

There is always a crowd of people waiting for a table. I went here once many years ago and thought it was average, at best. Any other thoughts on this place?

A friend took me to Crazy Fish the other night. I think I know why they call it Crazy Fish because I would be crazy to ever go back there. My expectations were low but how I could not have imagined the experience would be as bad as it was.

The most unforgivable thing about Crazy Fish was that the sushi rice was undercooked and had no flavor. It is hard to comment on the quality of the fish because the deficiencies with the rice overwhelmed whatever taste the sushi could have ever had. Al dente sushi rice is an experience that I wouldn't wish on anyone.

The service was poor; for example, (1) "Whoops, I forgot that sauce you asked me for twice." (2) No ginger on the table or ever offered to us. (3) Including smelt eggs in one of the rolls when we had specifically asked that it be excluded.

How in the world is that place so popular?

The food and experience at Crazy Fish could not hold a candle to the food and experience if only we had gone to 7-11, bought a California Rolls, and ate them in the 7-11 parking lot.

Yes, the y are crazy IMO. I used to go there in high school (15 years ago) and it was gross then too - but the portions are huge and it's cheap so it will probably outlive all of us.

This is what people were saying here in January.

Short answer-yes. Cheap food always draws a crowd.
