Bouchon Bakery?

Anyone been lately? I was thinking of going prior to a performance at Jazz at Lincoln Center tomorrow night. Will there be a long line for early dinner? Any must try items on the menu? Thanks in advance for all advice.

We had great service when we were there tonight. Since we both ordered sandwiches, we technically weren't supposed to get bread, but it looked so good (and we were sure the butter would be good too) that we had to ask -- our server was happy to give it to us and it was worth it. Only complaint on the service end was that somebody at one point took away our water carafe and didn't replace it until my husband got up to ask for more, at which point it was brought over promptly.

I had the vegetable jardiniere and my husband had the roast beef. Both were very good.

Well, we went and enjoyed it. No wait at about 6 pm and it was about 3/4 full. I had the tuna tartine and my dining companion had the quiche (wild mushroom, last night). We also splurged on 2 desserts - a banana tart and a chocolate tart, plus had half a carafe of alsatian wine. $80 check, which may be considered a lot for a light dinner (although not light on calories!), but everything we ate was exemplary. The service was friendly and the atmosphere fine for what it is. I'll definitely go again, and I'll also try the take-out next door, which has some of the dessert items for a couple of dollars cheaper than on the menu.

i also love the salmon rilette and the seafood salad.

but the items to buy if you have a sweet tooth are the sticky bun(best ever) and the chocolate "bouchon"

        yum.

I was at bouchon bakery last week for dinner-- i thought it was unacceptable. I have taken food to go usually bakery items/ sandwiches and they have been great. Last night i sat in the cafe. The service was awful. We did not get bread--- I had to ask 3x for a glass of wine. I had the bib salad which was ok-- very plain-- i also had tomato soup which was cold when I got it. The cafe was not so busy-- but the service was really really bad.

It is a very pleasant place to sit-- but I think take out from the counter is better.

The must try is the Salmon Rillette. Fabulous and worth the calories

That tuna tartine is tops, and soups and quiches are always, or almost always, spot on.
