Art Museum Vicinity

Looking for a spot near the Philly Art Museum (preferably walking distance) for a late lunch / early dinner tomorrow (Saturday). Looking for something casual and veg-friendly. Thanks in advance for any suggestions you might have!

  1. Maybe some others can help with the distance, but I think Rose Tattoo is in the of those places I've always wanted to go but have never been to, I hear consistently doog things about it - please post if you go there and let me know how it was!

Rose Tattoo is about a 20-30 minute walk from the Art Museum which is certainly do-able in neither too-hot/too-cold weather. The problem is, I do not know if Rose Tatto is open for lunch on Saturday.

    2. That's a tough one. As a vegetarian, I would say the Bishop's Collar would be best in that area. Their veggie burger and black bean burger are clearly frozen though, and are the same exact thing.
I would reccomend a salad instead.

      1. bishop's collar definately. my sister in law is vegetairan and always enjoys it

        1. Brigid's on 24th St. (I think). I can't vouch for it's veg-friendliness, but maybe someobe else can. Otherwise it's comfortable, consistently good and relatively inexpensive. One of my favorites.

          1. Thanks to everyone for their suggestions. Of the three spots mentioned, only Bishop's Collar was open for lunch. But after scoping Brigid's, I can say I'll definitely try and make it over there for dinner some evening. I gave them a call and they said they generally have pasta dishes that can be made veg, and their menu posted at the door had a few other options. Unfortunately BC was clobbered by a mass influx of customers shortly after we arrived and so the service was pretty lax. But there were only two waitresses, so they could hardly be faulted. The food was pretty standard and my partner did get the bean burger -- you're right, Saturninus, far from impressive! The meat-eater among us was pleased with the flank steak sandwich, and I wasn't in a salad-y mood so tried the portabella burger. Let's just say that it put me in a salad mood :) .
