I am holding a reception in Dallas and need a caterer. Anyone have experience with one that is mid-priced?

Savory Catering does a nice job...I have seen their work at the Times Ten Cellars Winery in Lakewood.

I had not heard of Times Ten before your note above. I checked their website to see if TT would be a good venue for my reception. I liked it, but they are not available on my date in March. Do you know of similar or other good places in Big D like Times Ten?

Be sure to check out Catering By George.
George Brown was a Food And Wine Best New Chef several years ago.
He recently closed his eponymous restaurant to focus on the catering business.

that's a good suggestion, GG. another one of a similar nature is Doug Brown, the chef who owns Amuse and Beyond the Box
