Quiet downtown restaurant recommendations wanted!!!

dtoronto Sep 14, 2006 06:21 PM

People I work with dine out regularly for meetings in the Entertainment District where our offices are. One has a hearing problem. Can anyone recommend a restaurant that has great food, but is not overly loud, due to music, or the one large room syndrome. They don't want to find someplace that is not busy, or eat at irregular times to avoid crowds/noises.

I am sure many people have had similar difficulties.

Savoy on Victoria street - very private booths - quiet but still part of the action

Savoy is a great recommendation. Nami on Adelaide at Church serves very good sushi and tempura and they have some private booths too.

My experiences at Ruths Chris if during the week has always been peaceful. Barbarians Steak House is always very comfortable.

I recommend Midi Bistro, but for dinner only (lunch is a bit nuts). It's on McCaul at Elizabeth Street: www.midibistro.com
