Has anyone been to Atelier recently?

Thinking of going for special birthday dinner but wonder if it is still good. Thoughts appreciated.

No problem Wilfrid! It was the post-Kreuther quality I was curious about. Good to know it still exists.

      Here's a very recent thread:

I think the OP mean Atelier, the restaurant in the Ritz Carlton that is slated to close soon, not L'Atelier de J.R. in the Four Seasons.

Mmmm... I hadn't thought of that. But looking at the Ritz Carlton website, I don't see any mention of Atelier, so it would appear that it has already closed and has been replaced by 2 West, a "contemporary New York steakhouse with subtle French influences...."

Thanks everyone -- I was talking about the one at the Ritz and was going off of this: http://www.ritzcarlton.com/hotels/new...

but do we think it closed??

If so, what do you think of Cru v. Bouley? I think L'Atelier de J.R. is too steep for the occasion ;-)

2 West is at the Battery Park R-C. Atelier was, and is, at the Central Park South R-C. There is no reason to believe it has closed, but no I haven't been since Kreuther moved to The Modern.

Oops! Mea culpa! I really need to read more carefully sometimes. :-( Here's the correct link:
