Is Oinkster going to be as great as we've heard?

I called tonight and got an actual person who said it should open in about 1 1/2 weeks. Those of us in the hood have been watching with interest. What can we expect in the way of new gustatory pleasures?

  1. I don't know, but with all this anticipation it better be better than that Dante's everyone was hoping would put Eagle Rock on the map for BBQ.

    (I know--Oinkster isn't a BBQ place).

    1. With all this anticipation it looks like we may have to throw elbows just to get in the place...without even knowing what the food tastes like!

      1. Well, if the reception the Oinkster received at the Savor the Seasons fundraiser last Sunday night was any indication, it will be just fine. Andre Guerrero served slider-like pastrami sandwiches as one of the two items that he brought to the event, and it was the only table that consistently had a line waiting for food - not Josie, Water Grill, Grace, Sea, Geoffrey's, Violet, nor any of the other participants.
        In fact, Josie came over at my urging and she really liked it, and they spent the next 10 minutes catching up conversationally.
        Andre will have homemade pastrami, a quality burger, and double fried french fries(Belgian style), etc. will provide much info regarding the menu.
