Quality Indian Food - How to tell if it is and how to get it?
In a discussion about Goan food, there were some good hints about how to tell if an Indian restaurant in general is good? For example, alu gobi might be a key dish to order. Also, if you know what vegetable dishes to order, you can gain some creds with the restuarant.
I have to say that I am so out of my mind bored with most Indian food, the same dishes over and over, that any tips would be welcome.

To tell you the truth, while that was good information, I was really interested in learning about Goan food and the thread veered off into how to select good Indian food and was nothing about Goan food which was the information I wanted. I was trying to re-direct that discussion. The topic never did and now probably never will get back to that particular cuisine.
Which is ok, because I just went out and ordered the dish at the restaurant so the questions I wanted to get answered, got answered that way.

It was really nice for the information in the other thread too and I really appreciated the time being taking for the tips, but I wanted to know something very specific and was hoping to get the other post back on the posted topic. It just continued getting deeper and deeper in another direction.
