Anyone ever eaten at East of Paris in Winter Park?

We were thinking about going this weekend, but have read mixed reviews online, Please help
I've been there a number of times. Chef/owner Farrier Richardson, an award winning Scottish chef, does a nice job -- especially with things like lamb and the simple Asian food he uses as a bar menu.
He did have a prix fixe menu in the back that was reasonable and changed regularly.
He had his share of service issues and an awful lot of slow nights. They had a solo act singer/musician in the front bar and, while he had a following of a few folks who dropped by to hear him, the music made conversation in the room impossible and it was most annoying. I stopped going because of that.
However the back room was much quieter, although the last time I ate there he wasn't doing service in the back room.
However, he closed up for vacation back in early August, and I suspect it may be an extended vacation as he hadn't reopened the last time I was in the neighborhood.
You might at least call first to see if they've opened back up.
I ate there only once, back in May, on my first day on my new (current) job with my boss. Needless to say, I was distracted and nervous by the other factors, and I ordered something I didn't necessarily want, but figured it would be easy and neat to eat in front of her without spilling anything or fighting with it too much. It was some pasta dish from their lunch specials, and I didn't like it that much. But she loved her meal, and it looked and smelled awesome. I'm sure if I had gone under any other circumstances, it would have been a fantastic meal.
