We had a wonderful dinner at Django last night, the first night of restaurant week. I generally feel that restaurants aren't at their best during RW, but we were pleasantly surprised last night. This was our first time back in many years. I had heard the comments about it not being the same under new owners but, frankly, we were so unimpressed on my visit several years ago that we never returned. The service was unrushed and lovely, the food was really good, even the glasses are much nicer (Riedel). I started with a sweet corn soup with crispy oyster. S.O. had prosciutto. Both wows. My entree was the skate. His was the strip steak in barolo sauce. Again, terrific. For dessert, I had a bread pudding with fresh berries. I loved it but I was very full by that time and couldn't finish it. He had the whoppers (chocolate profiteroles filled with malt ice cream). He thought it was super. All in all, a wonderful evening. We will definitely be back.
