Hong Kong Flower Lounge...Closed?

  • 6

I used to remember back 10-15 years ago when HKFL was one of very few Chinese restaurants on the peninsula to visit, then they moved and built the mega restaurant on Millbrae ave. The food was as well as the service was top notch...But come 2006, as chinese restaurants have sprung up all over the peninsula, competition with prices and quality of cantonese/chinese cuisine, I feel HKFL has taken a hit, each time I drive by, it's never a sign that business is keeping afloat, what happend to what was once the top rated Chinese restaurant in Millbrae? any advice would be appreciated, thanks,

  1. I don't understand your post. Are you saying that HKFL has been closed? Or that you think it should be? Or that you think it might be?

      1. Well I just had lunch there and the dim sum was excellent as usual - especially the scallop and shrimp dumplings.

It was pretty crowded for a Monday, about 3/4 full I'd say.

        1. "It's never a sign that business is keeping afloat"? I don't know what gives you that idea. True a number of competition has sprung up along that stretch of El Camino Real, so maybe some business has been siphoned off. But that's no where near the pessemistic picture your painted.

          1. So, is it no longer an utter mob scene on the weekends?
