Windsor's Summer Nights on the Green
The Thursday night farmers market and entertainment program on the Windsor Town Green have ended for the summer. But here's a glimpse of the action from two weeks ago to save for next year.
The number of farm booths is relatively small on Thursdays compared to the Sunday market. The main chow action here is with the many stands offering prepared foods for an evening picnic from both restaurateurs and community organizations. Santa Rosa Seafood had an extensive menu of made-to-order dishes. El Caches taco truck had a separate menu and price list for items made with organic ingredients. Langley's ran a special in the restaurant as well as organizing a booth. I heard praise for the cedar-planked wild salmon at Johnny Garlic's California Pasta Grill. Ume Japanese Restaurant had a selection of sushi rolls and other cold dishes. I spent my street food calories on a fat Cajun corn dog from Uncle Bill's.
