Brief dining report from Montreal
Thanks to all for suggestions for my trip to Montreal.
Tonight is my last night and will dine at Area. \
So far, have been to Lemeac for dinner (loved it), La Chronique for lunch (outstanding!), L'Express for dinner (OK), Le Club Chasse et Peche for dinner (A++), Gault for lunch (good) [staying here], Olive Gourmando (sp?) for lunch (nice vibe, good sandwich, a little pricy for the product) How I can say that after price to food ratio at Le Club Chasse et Peche is odd, no? ;-) Took to Metro all the way over for lunch at Joe Beef, not realizing closed for lunch, at least on Saturday so can't report on that.
Wish I had time to try many others that have gotten great reviews on this site but only here a few days. Will post impressions of Area on my return.
Thanks again to the Board for your help.
Oops. Forgot to add Boris Bistro on McGill for lunch. Good casual local place with nice terrace and good lunch menu. May want to book or show up early as popular, especially on nice days.
Just back after a wonderful few days. Finished up at Area in the Village. Perhaps the best overall experience of food, setting, wine, etc. Don't miss the aparagus risotto and if you are a tartare fan, be sure and sample their offering. Overall, highly recommended.
