good cookbook selection?

  • 9

wondering if folks have suggestions on places that have a really good selection (or specialize) in cook books, books on food, food writing, etc. could be in manhattan or outer boroughs.

  1. Kitchen Arts & Letters at 1435 Lexington Ave New York, NY 10128
    http://www.kitchenartsandletters.com/ For all things food

Bonnie Slotnick • Cookbooks 163 West Tenth Street
New York, New York 10014 Only vintage and antique cookbooks, but a fabulous selection.

    1. The larger Barnes & Nobles usually have a good selection of currently available books - certainly the one near Lincoln Center has quite a lot of them.

The other two are often expensive, but definitely the places to go for obscure books you can't find online; KA&L has a LOT of foreign/foreign language imports that aren't in general distribution here. I'm don't know about Slotnick's place, but KA&L often has weird hours, so call ahead.

      1. Bonnie Slotnick is awesome. Found a first edition of the Martha's Vineyard cookbook there. And talking to her about cookbooks can be really enlightening.

        1. dean & delucas cook books are well selected

          1. Joanne Hendricks Cookbooks at 488 Greenwich Street.

We're doing a podcast with her in the next few weeks. Really lovely woman.
