I love lychee martinis...does anyone have a good recipe?
Where do I find lychees and the syrup/liquer?

never had a lychee martini, but I love lychees. You can find them canned in syrup in the "International" section of most supermarkets

I have also found lychees in the regular canned fruit section.

There are also fresh lychees available this time of year in Asian markets (e.g. 99 Ranch has them right now).

You can also buy various (and probably unnecessary) lychee products here: http://www.lycheesonline.com/recipes.cfm

An alternative to making lychee martinis with syrup is to infuse vodka with the fruit, but then you'll have to wait a long time for that martini. ;)

I haven't had a lychee martini either, but I have had lychee liqueur with silver tequila--very interesting and worth a try.

          You can infuse your own:

Get fresh lychees and pit them, or buy a can and use just the fruit. I would use about two cups for every 750mL bottle vodka. Cover the fruit in vodka and let sit in a dark cabinet (or in the fridge) for at least a month. Mix with vodka and sugar syrup to your taste.

Alternatively, mix the juice from a can of lychee with vodka to your taste. Pineapple is a great addition.

You can find canned lychee at any Asian grocery store.

Infusing lychee is probably the most disappointing of any fruit. I have tried 4 times and the result is never near what I would hope for.

I've had better luck with canned lychee, but agree that the flavor is so light it's not as interesting as any number of other infusions.

I love lychee in all forms! For drinks go to your local asian market and if a Wegman's is nearby they have an outstanding and fresh asian aisle.

I used to make them with lychee juice out of a can (bought at a local Korean corner grocery)and Vodka. But now I make it with Lichido liqueur and Vodka, in equal parts. It's my wife's and my new favorite cocktail.

                I second Lichido.

                  Roy's makes a lychee martini--pretty tasty.

I once tried a lychee-mango infused vodka that was absolutely delicious. I took a 750mL bottle of Schmirnoff, added the canned lychees without about half of the syrup, and also added fresh ripe mango sliced in large-ish chunks. Wait a week. It makes a great martini - and if you add a few drops of blue curacao in the martini shaker, the martini comes out with a beautiful blue hue.

I'm a huge fan of Lichido- I just add some vodka, lychee juice, & lemon juice (or extract if I have it).
