A Baker's Tour
I purchased Nick Malgieri's "A Baker's Tour" a few months ago but have yet to bake from it. Every recipe looks so delicious, I don't know where to start! Has anyone had success with recipes from this book? Any recommendations?? I'd appreciate your suggestions :). Thanks!
I have all of Nick Malgieri's cookbooks and the recipes are perfect. I will occasionally change the spice recommendations, but the basic recipe is perfect for 95% of cooks.
I originally heard about him from friends who are also professional bakers, and seeing him do the Friday pastry slot on Sarah Moultons show proved to me that he isn't a "boutique" chef.
I love the Baker's Tour book. My two favorites are the St. Gallen Klostertorte, and the Tan Fingers. The Prinsessen Kramkake is pretty good too, but I have not made it myself yet.
Just thinking about the tan fingers makes me want to make them again and they are really easy to make so I would start with that.
