De La Cruz Deli, SJ report

hhc Sep 7, 2006 08:24 PM

P. told me about this hidden place and I say it's good! It's in a business park area so a bit of work to get here. It's a huge deli place with a salad bar, you can pick cold sandwiches or hot sandwiches that they will make for you. They have a patio w/ umbrellas you can use to sit outside.

I got a corned beef sandwich on dutch crunch. He said cheese was free but forgot to put some in my sandwich. You can tell them what you want or don't want on your sandwich. $5.95 Also got a bowl of soup (soup of the day) -Th. was cream of broccoli or minestrone $2.95, I got cream of broccoli-it was good.

P. got the world famous pastrami-darn, I should have gotten that. $5.95. He liked it. They slice it thin with lots of meat in each sandwich.

There are chips, desserts, cookies from Pacific Cookie Company in Santa Cruz, and the salad bar.

They take credit cards. Bathroom available. Just saw online you can place your order then pick it up: http://order3.delacruzde...

They have total of 4 locations: two in San Jose and one each in Sunnyvale and Santa Clara.

They have a bar area and a huge screen TV w/ lots of seating.

Recommended. San Jose Mercury review here: http://www.mercurynews.com/mld/mercur...
