Providence, drinks, tapas

I will be in Providence this Sat (9 Sept). I have a reservation at Cafe Nuovo for 8:30.

I'm thinking I would like to have drinks and an appetizer or tapas, late afternoon, say 5:30 - 6:30.

Any suggestions?

Thanks, Jenkins. We went to Mills Tavern for drinks and apps. Had an app of sautéd razor clams. Very good. I didn't know razor clams were served except for chowders, but they were very good. Excellent recomendation.

correction, Parkside is on South Main St. It is the same street really, just changes names.

Many places to pick from, although no specific tapas bar if that is what you are looking for near there. Try sitting at the bar at Mills Tavern or Parkside, both on North Main St. Or for a more elegant choice Gracie's on Washington is a beautiful restaurant and has a very nice bar area. Not that Mills and Parkside aren't very nice, they are, just Gracie's is a bit more elegant.
