My MIL gave me a bag of pine nuts she gathered, and they are fabulous, but they a royal pain to shell. I tried gently breaking shells in a morter/pestle, but it was slow and tedious! Anyone have a good method of shelling these little gems?
Takes some practice to get the right pressure but I have used: rolling pin, beer bottle, glass jar, can.
I put the nuts in a layer and roll over them.
