I'm a DC native who just moved back after living in Phoenix for a year. While there, I really fell in love with the way some restaurants out there did enchiladas - fresh tortillas, shredded beef, very spicy, maybe a fried egg on top - it makes me drool just thinking about it. Anyone know where I can find something comparable around DC? I've just been hitting Mexican restaurants in the area at random, and so far, no luck.

  1. The problem with most Mexican restaurants in the DC area is that they are either owned by Salvadorans or non-Mexicans. You should try Riverdale and places like El Tapatio.

    1. And furthermore, even the Mexicans aren't from NW Mexico, whose food is probably most well known to those in SW US. Some of the places are owned and run by Mexicans, but they're from further south and east.
