Heading here for Balloon festival, need restaurants other that Southwest/Mexican food, such as Thai, comfort food, ect. Any help is appreciated.

And, let me add Slate Street Cafe (505-243-2210) for you to consider. Website is http://www.slatestreetcafe.com

Breakfast and Lunch Monday through Friday; dinner Tuesday through Saturday with a Brunch on Saturday. Closed Sunday. They are just north of all of the downtown courthouses, hence the breakfasts I guess.

Excellent food from comfort foods like Chicken Pot Pie to a Rock Shrimp Scampi over Angel Hair Pasta or things like a Prime Rib Sandwich at lunch. High quality and flavor without being "fussy". Excellent and fairly priced wine list, too; about 10 choices by-the-glass.

I agree, I love the not fussy, high quality big flavor parts alot. Parking is painful, but well worth the suffering. In fact, I'm going there for lunch today.

Sharri.... What, you "no likey" the hot chile? ;-)

        OK, here's some recommendations.
THAI: Thai Tip on Wyoming @ Constitution

"Comfort Food": that can span a lot, so I'd suggest places that serve American like:
The Range Cafe (three locations in town)
Flying Star Cafe (seven locations, awesome mac & cheese)
Powdrell's BBQ (southern and fantastic, on 4th Street in the north valley)

Don't be discouraged if restaurants are "on the other side of town" - getting around ABQ is dead easy and fast.... and scenic, to boot!

Thank you so much for the tips, I have put in my New Mexico folder. I will give feedback about these places as we visit them. S.B.
