  1. I was just driving through Sonoma on Friday and I stopped at Sonoma Market. I think it's on 5th, just a few blocks from the main square. I was VERY impressed with the deli there. They had some pre-made stuff that looked amazing (perfect for a picnic) but I had them make me a sandwich. It was one of the best I have ever had. They grilled roast beef and also grilled onions. They put cheddar on the beef until it melted then put it all on a great roll with mayo, mustard, pickels, tomatos, lettuce and avocado. It was so very good. Can't wait to go back.

Be sure to get the fried chicken at Sonoma Market or its sister, Glen Ellen Market, for a picnic lunch.

    2. I was just at the new Fig Pantry this weekend and they have very tempting picnic goodies, including gorgeous looking sandwiches, Fra mani sausages, cheeses, baked goods, etc. It's located just a mile or so from the plaza in Sonoma.

As for where to picnic, the main plaza is nice, but so are many wineries with picnic tables. I don't have a favorite one.

Fine LIving did a round up of spots though!
