Bouchon in Santa Barbara
Thanks Santa Barbara chowhounds! Husband & I were in Santa Barbara this past weekend and had dinner at Bouchon based on the recommendations on this site (and after checking out the restaurant's website). We had a fantastic meal! I'd liken the restaurant to Lucques in L.A.
First, the bread was delicious - crusty and airy inside. Apparently they get it from D'Angelo's. We started by sharing the raviolo appetizer. A bit overpriced at $14, but delicious, especially the lightly fried, cheese stuffed squash blossom. Hubby had the pork chop special & loved it. I had the onaga fish, prepared as the sea bass is done on the menu. The fist itself was excellent and the sides were amazing - Israeli cous cous with corn and fantastically flavored squash and velvet pioppini mushrooms. For dessert we had a chocolate molten cake with coffee ice cream and a huckleberry upside down cake with lemon zest ice cream - both were awesome.
Hubby had wine that he liked, but not sure what it was. I'm pregnant so stuck to water...
Waiter was very knowledgeable and friendly but not overbearing. Food came out quickly. We sat on the patio.
All in all, a great experience! Thanks again.
