Midweek Birthday Lunch in Providence?

bosbruen Sep 5, 2006 07:40 PM

I'm looking to take my mother out to a nice lunch in Providence this Thursday and I'm looking for advice. I'm looking for good food of course, but I also want a place with a nice atmosphere and location. It looks like Providence has a number of restaurants in funky old buildings. I was hoping for someplace that has some nice shopping or just a nice place to walk around afterwards.

I would like it to be nice (no take out or pizza places), but it doesn't need to be the most expensive place in the city. The place also needs to be open for lunch.

Thanks in advance!

I would try Bravo across the street from Trinity Rep. Beautiful dining inside or outside. And it won't break the bank.

Bravo's a good choice. I'd also add Parkside, Rue de L'Espoir and 3 Steeple St to the list.
