Mid-week downtown, no res

A co-worker asked me for a recommendation for a place downtown mid-week that he wouldn't need a reservation for. Chinatown is out, as is sushi because his wife is preggers.

Looking to spend $70-100 total for everything (or less) for two people. I was thinking Eastern Standard or Les Zygomates.

Maybe something with a prix fixe on Wednesdays?

Any help would be great. Thanks.

Davio's, Avila and Via Matta where you could definitely hit the bar area if the dinings rooms were packed. Vinalia on Summer St. would be able to accommodate, they're okay and large enough to not worry about a reservation. Montien for Thai. Maybe also Brasserie Jo, Turner Fisheries more up by Copley.
