overall look and feel
Overall I like the concept of this mag. Since it's still in BETA stage I would say work on the page layout. Images obscure some of the search fields and other navigation pieces. Maybe it's my browser view.
Lots going on,kind of busy, but I am interested in seeing the evolution. Good luck.
I was going to comment on this as well. I LOVE all the features--well written, well produced, well designed, and so on. But the overall site doesn't feel quite...user-friendly yet. I often get 'lost' as I am going through pages and lose track of how I got to where I am (and then have trouble finding it again). Sometimes I feel a bit overwhelmed by everything that's going on--like being at a circus with folks hollaring at me from all sides. Is there a more intuitive way to lay out the primary Chow homepage and then the 'homepages' of each of the main sections (Stories, Recipes, the Grinder, etc.)? The individual pages of a recipe or article are fine, I think.
Some other food/eating websites have lists of 'related links' along the side of individual articles--I love that feature and would like to see it here. For instance, a link to the video on cutting up a chicken alongside the recipe for garlicky roast chicken. Or more obvious links to recipes within recipes (see recipe for S'mores with imbedded links to recipes for graham crackers and marshmallows--that was confusing).
The layout of your recipes is clear, neat and easy to read. I think you've organized the categories on your site in a logical and easy to use manner. I feel this is a user friendly site and I look forward to using it in the future! what a valuable resource you have made available! thanks
