Returning to Tuscaloosa - What to Eat?

I went to school at UA (I'm from Bama originally) but I now live in Calgary, AB. I'm returning to Tuscaloosa for the Bama/Duke game. I'm also bringing my Canadian husband and a Kenyan/Canadian friend.

My question is: where do I take them to eat in T-town that will show them what Southern food is all about?

We will be there for Friday night dinner & all day on Saturday.

Thanks in advance!

Think Archibald's in Northport for barbecue, Waysider for breakfast, Nick's in the Sticks for value priced traditional Friday night steak and drinks.

Dreamland, ditto. Went to school there myself and lots has changed lately, and lots has not. You'd have a nice evening at The Globe in scenic downtown Northport. It's not a Southern meat-and-3 by a long shot. But it's good food done well with a little southern accent. And main street is good local color. Have fun!

If you don't take them to Dreamland, you're doing them a diservice.

I haven't been there in years, but I would think that Dreamland would be a mandatory stop.
