Solo in South Beach?

Looking for South Beach suggestions where a solo diner wouldn't feel too terribly ostracized and supermodel-deprived. I'm thinking good restaurants that serve their full menus at the bar, sushi bars, etc.

  1. We often go to the kitchen bar at Talulah although this isn't a terribly "South Beachy" place in the first place (not such a bad thing, if you ask me). Emeril's gets a bad rap from lots of folks but they do have a nice bar, friendly bartenders, and you can order from the full menu. I find sushi on South Beach lacking - Shoji used to be good but has gone downhill.

Went to Emeril's in South Beach once not too long ago. Nice room, nice presentation, and the food was dull, dull, dull.

    2. I was going to mention Talula. Another option is Joe Allen's (a little out of the way, but very friendly). If you venture off the beach, River Oyster Bar in the Brickell area near downtown is very good.

This is good advice. Joe Allen is my favorite place to eat alone & a Talula is a close second.
