Truffled Peaches from Italy?

has anyone heard of them, or seen them anywhere?

I'd try calling Salumeria Italiana in the North End, or Tutto Italiano in Wellesley. If anyone in the area has them, they will.

I do know that Salts in Cambridge serves them with their duck.

I had them with the duck at Salts. Delicious. I actually just found a website where you can order them online if you can't find them locally (you have to go to "shop retail" and scroll down a bit):

Well, Salts might very well make their own. But my guess is that storebought is often prepared like many fruits are for a savory dish: bought whole and then cooked down to intensify the flavor. Also, I've heard of them being sliced very, very thinly and used as a plate-base for fish.
