Chicken Fried Steak, Hash Browns- Oakland Area

Where can I get country or chicken fried steak with good hash browns in the Berkeley, Alameda, or Oakland area? Bonus points if they serve it all day!

    1. Here are my chowhound notes for CFS in that area; turns out to be Alameda only. I haven't tried them myself. There are others further away.

      Ole's Waffle Shop
      1507 Park St
      Alameda
      510-522-8108
Open 7 days, 6 AM to late afternoon
chowhound: You can start at Ole's Waffle Shop in Alameda, which does a pretty fair chicken fry steak. It's a breakfast item only, as far as I know, so no green beans and mash potatoes under that gravy.

      Jim's Coffee Shop
      Alameda.

Tried Jim's today for Breakfast - Thanks! The Chicken Fried Steak was pretty Good. I'd rate it a 8 out of 10.

The best hash browns I've ever had are from 900 Grayson in Berkeley (and that's the address as well). They are only served at breakfast until 11 on weekdays and at brunch on Saturday.
In lieu of chicken fried steak they also have sort of a chicken fried chicken. It's a boneless breast, deep fried and served with cream gravy on a waffle. That's served all day, every day. The restaurant is only open for breakfast and lunch.

Sorry, I had the Chicken Fried Steak there and it was very disappointing. The breading slid right off the meat, the meat was chewy, and it tasted bland. I'd give it a 4.

My husband used to love this place, until I took him to It's Tops in the City.

What place are you referring to? My short list had two places in it.

                2. Thanks! I live in Alameda, and the Jim's recommendation was perfect. Here is my review:
