Cheap and VERY good samosas?

asdf Sep 4, 2006 02:30 AM

Where can I find them? I'm on a hunt, so any locale works. Thanks in advance.

www.streetgrub.com has a couple of carts that serve samosas. But, your best bet might be to check out the restaurants in the Curry Hill area.

    Curry Hill: Lex. between 30th/26th

New Naimat Kada (Pakistani, Indian, Bangladeshi Cuisine)
      124 Lexington Avenue between 28th & 29th sts
      (212) 400-1166

They have *decent* vegetable or meat Samosas. One dollar.

If you're looking for something inexpensive and filling, try their Chicken Seekh Kababs.
      Two for three dollars.

They have a Shami Kabab also which is ground beef mixed with lentils and spices fried in the Pakistani style. A dollar fifty.

And always stop upstairs in the video store for a paan on the way out. Fast food and cheap...
You're in and out usually in no time.

When I used to work in a job in the Curry Hill area, we used to go to these all-you-can-eat buffet lunches and get totally stuffed with samosas. I'm sure not all of the buffets serve samosa, but if they do...POUNCE!
