When I was living in NYC, I used to love a nearby Afghan restaurant. Does anyone know of any in the Bay Area? Especially one that serves pumpkin samusas...
Helmond - in S.F. on BroadwayKabul - in Sunnyvale
Not sure about the samusas but they definately serve pumpkin dishes. Both are very good.
Kabul also is in Belmont on El Camino.
Here's a link to Kabul's (actually in San Carlos) menu:
Helmand is a great Afghan restaurant. Here's a link to their menu:
Bamyan in San Rafael.
There's a large Afghan community in Fremont and a number of restaurants there.
Surprisingly, Walnut Creek has De Afghanan at 1250J Newell St.It's away from the downtown parking madness. Modern decor but nice and quiet, not a yuppie meet market. Here's a 'review': http://www.eastbayexpress.com/search/...
Update - sadly, De Afghanan in Walnut Creek is Closed.
