Lower East Side/ East Village Brunch/ Dinner Crawl -- Ideas?
Exploring the LES/ EV over a Sunday late afternoon/ evening. So far thinking of the following - will just be having a drink and app at 3-4 places with a friend. Eager to hear feedback on prioritizing our list, gleaned from Chowhound, and adding any others!
Our not-so-short list:
Katz's -- enjoyed, a standard
Schiller's -- enjoyed
Clinton St Baking Co
Milk and Honey
1492 -- enjoyed
Cacio e Pepe
Zerza -- enjoyed
Prune: go for brunch, but there'll be a long wait. Go early and get a bloody mary. Or 10.
Schiller's: skip this!
Clinton St Baking Co: go early, for a morning-type food.
Alias: I really love this place.
Milk and Honey: go to East Side Company on Essex instead.
Inoteca: great for your app and drink plan
The Delancey: do they even have food?
Little Giant: awesome
I left off the places I've never been to. These are just my quick suggestions. Enjoy!
We recently visited NY and had dinner at a place called Danal, little French place in the East Village, at 90 East 10th. Dinner was delicious, and we learned they had a good brunch menu too. We didn't have time to check out the brunch while there, but if the dinner is any yardstick, its gonna be good. I had a salad of heirloom tomatoes and watermelon (!) that was out of this world! It's also a cute, romantic place with good service and good wine. They have a garden dining area, which we did not see, but that might be nice for brunch.
